GES Requests Submission of Staff Personal Files for Job Evaluation Exercise
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has asked all Regional Directors of Education to support the submission of staff personal files for a Job Evaluation Exercise.
The directive was contained in a letter dated 8 June 2026. Prof. Smile Dzisi (Mrs.), Deputy Director-General (Management Services), signed the letter for the Director-General.
According to GES, the exercise forms part of preparations for the implementation of the new Scheme of Service.
The Service is carrying out the exercise in collaboration with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission and the Public Services Commission.
Purpose of the Exercise
The letter stated that the Job Evaluation Exercise will help validate and update the personal records of all staff.
Therefore, Regional Directors must work with Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directors of Education to collect the required files.
The files should be forwarded to the Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) Division Secretariat at GES Headquarters.
Documents Required
For the exercise, each staff personal file should contain the following documents:
Letter of Appointment
Completed and signed Personal Record Form
Certified true copies of academic and professional certificates
Copies of all promotion letters
Any other relevant personnel documents relating to the staff’s career progression and status within the Service
GES Directs Offices to Vet Files
GES has also directed regional, metropolitan, municipal and district offices to vet the files carefully before submission.
In addition, the documents must be arranged in the order provided by GES.
This will help make the job evaluation process easier and faster.
GES Calls for Urgent Action
GES described the assignment as time-bound.
As a result, the Service has asked offices to give the exercise the highest priority.
It also requested that the required files reach the Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) Secretariat according to the approved schedule.
What This Means for GES Staff
The directive signals that GES is taking steps to update staff records ahead of key human resource reforms under the new Scheme of Service.
Teachers and other staff should therefore keep their appointment letters, certificates, promotion letters and other relevant documents ready.
They should also cooperate with their district, municipal, metropolitan and regional offices when asked to provide the required documents.
