GES Opens 2026 Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra District Re-Posting Exercise
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the commencement of the 2026 Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra District Re-Posting exercise for staff seeking transfers within the Service.
In a letter dated 3 June 2026 and addressed to all Regional Directors of Education, GES Management outlined the timelines and procedures for the annual re-posting exercise.
Assurance Process Remains Unchanged
According to the letter, the process for obtaining assurances by staff seeking re-posting remains unchanged. Applicants are expected to follow the existing procedures and submit the required supporting documents.
Key Dates for the 2026 Re-Posting Exercise
GES has released the following schedule:
1. Issuance of Assurances Begins
Eligible applicants can start obtaining assurances from Wednesday, 3 June 2026.
2. Deadline for Issuance of Assurances
The issuance of assurances will end on Wednesday, 17 June 2026.
3. Processing of Inter-Regional Re-Posting Applications
Regional offices will process Inter-Regional reposting applications from Wednesday, 17 June 2026 to Tuesday, 30 June 2026.
4. Final Deadline for Processing Re-Posting Applications
The deadline for processing all Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra District re-posting applications is Monday, 31 August 2026.
5. Effective Date of Approved Re-Postings
Approved re-postings will take effect from the beginning of the next academic year, September 2026.
Directive to Regional Directors
GES Management has requested Regional Directors to submit processed Inter-Regional transfer documents to the Headquarters as they are received in order to facilitate timely processing.
Regional offices have also been directed to compile and forward lists of all staff who have been granted assurances to the Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) Secretariat at GES Headquarters.

Teachers and other GES staff who intend to seek Inter-Regional or Inter/Intra District transfers should begin the assurance process immediately and ensure that all required documentation is submitted within the stipulated timelines.
