GES Finally Announces Dates for 2025 Promotion Letters and Salary Placement
The Ghana Education Service has announced when promotion letters will be distributed to teachers who passed the recent promotion examination. GES has also provided a date for placing successful candidates on their appropriate salary scales.
In an official statement dated 28 July 2026, GES said it is working to complete the promotion letters. The Service assured affected teachers that the process is receiving serious attention.
Promotion Letters to Be Sent from 15 August
According to GES, the promotion letters will be dispatched to the Regional Education Directorates from 15 August 2026.
The regional offices will then distribute the letters to teachers who qualified for promotion. Therefore, successful candidates may have to wait for further communication from their respective regional, municipal, metropolitan or district education offices.
GES did not provide separate distribution dates for the various regions. However, the statement indicates that the dispatch process will begin from 15 August.
Successful Teachers to Be Placed on New Salary Scales
GES also stated that qualified teachers will be placed on the appropriate salary scales by 31 August 2026.

The August 31 deadline announced for the salary placement of newly promoted teachers has passed, but the placement process remains an important issue for affected teachers.
Following concerns raised by teacher unions, the Ministry of Education held discussions with union leaders on August 31, 2026. The unions subsequently suspended their planned industrial action while government works to complete the outstanding salary placements.
