In 2022, there will be electricity in the air.
Perhaps one of the most eagerly awaited EV vehicles of all time, including a trio of surface pickups: the Tesla Cybertruck, Ford F-150 Lightning, and GMC Hummer EV, is set for release.
However, it appears that several manufacturers, both new and old, will release their first EVs in 2022. The Mazda MX-30 and the environmentally-conscious Fisker Ocean SUV will be available in the new year. The Lucid Air supercharged will finally provide a more affordable version of its ultra-high cost launch model.
If 2022 has anything to do with 2021, when EV sales more than quadrupled, EV demand will continue to rise.
So, although we’ve all learned in previous years to temper our lofty expectations for the new year, it appears like an exciting 2022 is all but certain, at least in terms of EVs. Here’s a short preview of what’s in store for the next 12 months:
